What FWCL Means
What makes the Fort Wayne Center for Learning different than a tutoring service?
The Fort Wayne Center for Learning provides effective and high intensity one-to-one reading, spelling, writing, math, comprehension, academic independence management and specific subject instruction.
Programs implemented at FWCL have gained the respect of parents, clinicians, educators, speech pathologists, psychologists, and researchers. The programs used are research-based and exceed the criteria set by No Child Left Behind. Simultaneously, strategic instruction is implemented to help students use language and thinking to mediate their difficulties, become more self-aware and develop the ability to regulate habitual, anxiety-ridden and ineffectual learning behaviors that interfere with academic functioning. Instruction can be preventative and/or remedial. It can be implemented to enhance general learning and specific subject learning.
